I'm the cleaning lady, no, I'm not THE MAID, but a simple cleaning lady. I drop by various homes & Restaurants for a few hours and do the BIG STUFF, you know, the stuff we all hate doing in our own homes....like light fixtures and ceiling fans. Now, if I happen to spruce up YOUR home and then blog about it, don't bitch. Take this as insight, maybe even a clue, LOL.
First, I'd like to explain the differences of either being a maid or cleaning lady.
MAIDS: either live in or come daily to keep homes clean and tidy, they do the dishes, wipe up after the pets and children, and generally keep things in order. Every day.
CLEANING LADIES: come either weekly or bi-weekly, depending on how gross your house is kept. CL's DO NOT DO DISHES that have been left in the sink for a week to grow mold and other biological hazards. We do not put away all your stuff that is strewn about, that is YOUR JOB.
CL's start at the top of the room and work down to the floor (dust floats down...just an FYI). We sweep, mop, dust and wipe down. thats the job.
I clean for the extra money, and quite frankly, it beats waiting tables for the same amount. and is less time consuming, not to mention there is less bullshit to deal with (read: people). I also occasionally act as a hostess for a local steak house, and have come upon cleaning gigs from doing so (Thanks Andy!). I'm sure I will post about both jobs in "Dusted Bunnies".
My key domestic arrangements are with "dream house & single guy" & "oh god, don't make me go there today" (LOL) and "The Hotel".
Thanks be to whomever hears my prayers, I'm doing Dream house this week. "Beasley" the beagle lives at DH, and she makes cleaning enjoyable. She seems happy about it too, must be all the cookies I give her when I get done each room! Sweet tri-colored football that she is, she will waddle in my dreams forever more :)
I wish you all a happy holiday season, no matter if you celebrate chrismahanukakwanza or not. now pick up your used underwear & musty towels off the floor before THE CLEANING LADY gets there!

And I thought that we housewives were cleaning ladies, that is how I feel anyway and I clean everyday and never pick up stuff for my kids, after all they are over 18 and can do that stuff for themselves now no? Seems cleaning ladies are even better off than we housewives then huh? :((
ReplyDeletehousewives are hugely underpaid! Did you know that the estimated income for all the jobs that a housewife does came out to being almost 179K (US)!!! thats cabby, cleaning lady, laundrey,cook, childcare, cafateria aid...etc....

We'll I gave up my housewife title (divorce) and for some unknown reason my kids gave me the title "slave"! Last month, I hope I gave that title up when I had to make a hard decision! Anywho, Love the blog cleaning lady!
